Black Guns Matter With Maj Toure: GodArchy Podcast #22
Posted in : GodArchy Podcast on by : Michael Maharrey Tags: Second Amendment, self-defense, self-ownership
Your right to self-defense is a natural right that flows logically from the concept of self-ownership.
That right is increasingly under assault as governments attempt to crack down on various types of firearms in the name of safety.
Maj Toure is having none of it. He is the co-founder of Black Guns Matter, an organization that educates people in urban communities about the Second Amendment and the right to self-defense through firearms training programs.
But Black Guns Matters is not just about arming people up. Force is viewed as a last resort and the organization places a heavy emphasis on conflict resolution.
In this interview, Maj and I talk about the organization, the politics of firearms, self-defense, the importance of conflict resolution and the idea of self-ownership. We also touch more generally on racial politics.
“I don’t really care if you think my life matters. I know my life matters. And my black gun will protect my black life.”
